Performs multiple tasks on an assigned team, project, or functional area.

Tasks will typically be performed within full-scale production manufacturing operations and include tasks such as nonroutine and nonrepetitive production electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assembly. The ideal candidate may monitor and verify quality per statistical processes or other control procedures and pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments. May provide training to less experienced team members. Participates in program or functional team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling. Be responsible for processing electronic assemblies in a factory environment, executing, and recommending modifications to Manufacturing processes and procedures. This position requires working closely and collaborating with the Woodland Hills Manufacturing organizations, Engineering, and Mission Assurance.

These responsibilities include:

  • Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.

  • Work from diagrams and drawings, layouts, and use hand and/or power tools.

  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on the processing line per quality specifications.

  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions. General cleaning of assemblies, creating identification plates & installation, and paint touch-ups.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of IPC J-STD-001, J-STD-002, J-STD-003, J-STD-004, J-STD-005 certification.

  • Soldering experience with Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA's).

  • Ability to read drawings and assembly instructions to perform mechanical assembly tasks.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to document and keep records.

  • A working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or other shop floor management systems.

  • Must be self-motivated and can handle and complete multiple tasks within defined time limitations.

  • Communicate in a clear and precise manner within a team environment of peers and professionals to execute daily activities.

  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. 1-2 feet.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • associate degree in a technical discipline.

  • Aerospace experience/DOD experience.

  • The ability to solder using a hot plate while looking through a microscope is a plus.

  • Experience with fine pitch CCA's and multi-layered Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) is a plus.

  • Proficient with MS Office is a plus.

  • Experience in circuit card testing is a plus.

MANUMS

Salary Range: $44,600 - $74,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
