Boeing Global Services is seeking a Defense Air Dominance Instructional Systems Designer to support the design and development of customer-facing aircrew and maintenance training program and courseware. The ideal candidate will be curious with a passion for discovering and for designing effective learning solutions. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate cross-functionally with diverse skillsets and stakeholders to understand, interpret, and act upon the needs of learners. The ability to navigate a diverse field of technical and operational complexity to accomplish objectives is key to success in this position. This position is focused on keeping our warfighters safe and offers the opportunity to make a considerable impact in the aviation industry.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced or Lead Level Instructional Systems Designers

This is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to perform some work onsite at one of the Boeing locations:

USA - Jacksonville, FL

USA - Seattle, WA

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs technical learning solutions to meet customer and stakeholder objectives.

  • Researches and analyzes learning objectives and customer needs.

  • Designs and provides recommendations to stakeholders on course structure, content, and methodologies.

  • Completes design review process with stakeholders.

  • Supports development of training content to meet learning objectives.

  • Leads evaluation of technical training effectiveness and customer feedback.

  • Develops and leads assessment of new instructional strategies, methods, technologies and tools related to instructional design, development, and delivery.

  • Performs project oversight activities and stakeholder management.

  • Provides mentorship and development to instructional systems designers and content developers.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or 2+ years of related work experience

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or 3+ years of related work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or 5+ years of related work experience

  • Experience with project management and self- managing projects

  • Knowledge of eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate and Camtasia

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems

  • Experience with large-scale research projects and initiatives

  • Experience working within complex regulatory environments

  • Experience within the aviation maintenance, engineering, or other complex technical fields

Typical Education/ Experience:

Experienced (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in education, technology, technology education, science, management, instructional design, or related fields (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

Career (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in education, technology, technology education, science, management, instructional design, or related fields (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).

Expert (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in education, technology, technology education, science, management, instructional design, or related fields (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' experience in an educational or technical field or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an educational or technical field or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in educational or technical field.

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in one of the immediate areas or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

Summary pay range for associate level: 66,300 – 89,700

Summary pay range for mid-level: 81,600 – 110,400

Summary pay range for senior level: 101,150 – 136,850
