• Operate heavy, intermediate, and specialized construction equipment: excavators, backhoes, end loaders, skid steers, trenchers, tapping machines, boring machines, horizontal directional drill/boring, vacuum trucks, sewer-flushing devices, and other related equipment.

• Complete utility work in maintaining, repairing, installing, construction, flushing, flow testing, and disinfection to the utility’s potable and reclaimed water distribution systems, wastewater; gravity, vacuum, and pressurized sewer collection systems, their appurtenances and all public service laterals.

• Perform complete underground utility inspection, discovery, and locate the utility’s potable and reclaimed water distribution systems, their appurtenances, and all public service laterals.

• Perform right-of-way MOT and all restorations relating to complete utility maintenance and repairs.

Work Hours: 40 Hours Per Week, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. On-Call Required.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or its equivalent.

• Two (2) years of experience in the operation and routine maintenance with heavy equipment in operations, maintenance, repair, and construction of water distribution.

• A valid Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker endorsements at the time of hire.

Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Starting Pay: $21.07 (Step 1)

Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.
