Electrical Technician

Ashland, ME - FT/Rotating - Permanent Opportunity

Job Description:

Permanent opening for an Electrical Technician to work for an industrial facility in Ashland. This position offers competitive wages and a full selection of benefits: 401k with employer match, paid time off, and medical, dental, and vision insurance. Full-time/Rotating; 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Days) and 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Nights), Monday-Friday. \$25.00 - \$35.00/hr., depending on experience.

The Electrical Technician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components within the facility. Applicants must have an associate degree in electrical technology or equivalent apprenticeship, as well as 2-5 years of experience working in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality testing and inspections to ensure that all electrical systems on-site are in good working order.
  • Examine work orders and communicate with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
  • Repair equipment by replacing defective components or worn parts.
  • Install and troubleshoot new electrical equipment.
  • Send defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal regulations for jobsite safety.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines as directed by company policy.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in electrical technology or an equivalent apprenticeship.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with electrical controls, power distribution, programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives.
  • Good communication skills; must be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Schedule: Full-time/Rotating; 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Days) and 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Nights), Monday-Friday.

Pay: \$25.00 - \$35.00/hr., based on experience. Access to benefits available after probation period.
