JOB REQUIREMENTS: As a Pipeline Technician/Construction Laborer, you will be trained to drive construction trucks and equipment to construction sites. Once on site, as part of a crew, you will use specialized underground construction equipment to perform sewer repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation services for municipalities throughout the upper Midwest. Visu-Sewer will provide training on workplace safety and equipment use. Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers. Operate sewer maintenance and rehabilitation equipment, drive Class-B CDL required vehicle. Services are performed for municipalities/government agencies/large industry. Travel to locations throughout the Midwest and beyond. Overtime & travel is required of all employees. Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones. Identify, pack, or transport hazardous or radioactive materials. Install sewer, water, or storm drainpipes, using pipe-laying machinery or laser guidance equipment. Operate or maintain air monitoring or other sampling devices in confined or hazardous environments. Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities. Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt. Tend machines that pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, plaster, or stucco through spray guns for application to ceilings or walls. Use computers or other input devices to control robotic pipe cutters or cleaners. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Veteran friendly ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Not Required. Qualified applicants will be trained. Must pass aptitude and mechanical tests. Excellent driving record required. Training is available for qualified drivers. Must pass pre-employment human performance evaluation/DOT physical and drug screening to qualify for DOT health card. Must have the ability to travel 1 to 4 nights weekly as majority of projects are away from the Milwaukee area.
