Position Summary:

The Assistant Shift Lead is responsible for providing operational supervision, where safety is first, for a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift warehouse, packing line and shipping/receiving dock operation. In this position you will administer all functions to ensure accurate product receipt, timely order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources, packaging lines and processes. The Assistant Shift Lead is responsible for working with employees on technical, personal, and interpersonal issues affecting the overall performance of the team, while ensuring compliance with company policies/procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supervising, counseling, motivating, evaluating, providing training, and ensuring safety requirements are followed, for direct reports.
• Coordinate new hire orientation, training, and development to support employee retainment efforts, and to coordinate these activities with Warehouse supervision on an ongoing basis. Develop training aids to support a more effective training process of new employees.
• Coordination of direct report tasks to ensure Warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Understand and educate team members on Key *Performance *Indicators. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment on KPI's, goals and improvement initiatives
• Ensure that the performance goals are achieved, through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Quality and Customer Service.
• Ensure superior customer service to customers and internal partners by delivering on shipping commitments.
• Make recommendations to the Warehouse Manager to assure continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
• Maintain effective communication with other departments: Maintenance, Customer Service, Human Resources, Logistics and Procurement functions.
• Ensures adherence to company rules and policies including but not limited to safety, training requirements, GMP's, USDA, FDA, BRC, and OSHA regulations.
• Creates daily/weekly schedule for all direct reports.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

• Associates degree or relevant training preferred
• LEAN, Six Sigma, APICS/ISM and other certifications a plus

Experience / Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory/Management experience
• Warehouse/Distribution Center experience preferred
• Proficiency/Experience in other Supply Chain disciplines a plus
• Proficiency of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in using WMS, ERP or resource planning systems
• Ability to write, speak, read, and communicate clearly in English
• Eligible to work in the US without Sponsorship.

Schedule:2nd Shift: 3:00pm- 1:00pm

8-hour shift, may need to work extended hours / Overtime based on needs of the business

Weekend availability in season w/ specific mandatory Saturdays as needed.

Please Note: If hired you will need to train on 1st shift for up to 2 weeks with a trainer.
