The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Medical School is seeking to hire a faculty member in the newly created division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Working in close collaboration with its sister division, Population Health, Quality, and Implementation Science (PopQuIS), which houses ambulatory primary care pediatrics and our generalist research mission (Lawrence Kleinman, MD, MPH Division Director) the RWJMS Department of Pediatrics is moving its academic mission for general pediatrics to an exciting new trajectory. PopQuIS is developing programs in health services and health policy research, and quality, safety, and implementation sciences.

Candidates must have an MD or DO degree, be board-certified in pediatrics and must be Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. We are looking for fellowship trained physicians, with fellowships in Pediatric Hospital Medicine or Academic General Pediatrics. At RWJMS Pediatric Hospitalists see patients and mentor students and residents on our inpatient units, well newborn nurseries and same day medical units of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital, a facility on our academic child health campus, which also includes the PSEG Children's Specialized Hospital (for acute Rehabilitation) and the Child Health Institute of NJ. The children's hospital is adjacent to the RWJUH adult hospital which is connected via a bridge to the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ - the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey.

Our hospitalists share all call, weekend and holiday coverage. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for teaching, enjoy caring for children with a wide variety of conditions including those who are medically complex. We value leadership. Applicants with research training and a portfolio of scholarly productivity are encouraged. As a part of Rutgers University RWJMS faculty have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in the basic and social sciences, other clinical arms of the university (e.g. Social Work, Pharmacy) and the Rutgers School of Public Health, among others.
