Description:

TEKsystems is looking for an engineer to help one of our clients in Chicagoland. This will sit on site mostly.

• Professional experience with the following skills/tools:

o .NET web software stack (C#, ASP.NET Framework/Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server)

o Visual Studio or VS Code

o Front-end languages and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap are most common)

o Writing SQL queries

o Relational Database design

o Public Clouds (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP)

o Git source control

Nice to haves include:

• Xamarin/MAUI and/or native mobile app development (iOS and Android)

• Database administration

• J2EE

• .NET Web Forms

• .NET WinForms

• Windows Services

• Java Spring

• BI or data manipulation and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

• Linux

• Web Networking (DNS, IP, HTTP, TLS)

• Legacy technologies

A day in the life here will look like:

• Providing day-to-day system support and troubleshooting

• Collaborating with Project Manager and other stakeholders within the Software Engineering team to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

• Assisting with project scoping, providing estimates of effort, and abiding by the established scope/estimated time upon execution.

• Participate in owning a project from concept to production, including proposals, client and internal discussions, and execution.

• You have experience in analyzing code for weaknesses and errors and correcting those instances.

• You have experience developing secure software systems based upon industry-specific specifications.

Onsite vs. Remote: Onsite for first 3-6 months. Remote flexibility is there, but they would like this person to start off with onsite integration, training and onboarding. Most of the team operates in a hybrid model today.

Team of 4 software engineers today + 1 Project manager - SQL DB experience is not needed as they have an expert in house.
