CITY OF WEST ALLIS Seasonal Municipal Laborer in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Make the most of our gorgeous Wisconsin summers by working outdoors as a Temporary Seasonal Laborer with the West Allis Department of Public Works. These full-time seasonal positions offer great work hours ranging from spring early fall. Learn more about municipal public works operations and gain new skills in customer service, landscaping, road painting, sanitation work, and more. Work in 3 Divisions available: FORESTRY: Cutting grass, pulling weeds, trimming, edging, tilling and planting flowers, mulching paths and landscape beds, and miscellaneous duties. May work for other Divisions during inclement weather. FACILITIES: Erecting and taking down mobile signs, Park attendant, janitorial duties (Public Works building, Farmers Market, etc.), assist with road and crosswalk painting, barricading, traffic/parking control, and miscellaneous duties. SANITATION & STREETS: Working on the tar crews filling holes/cracks in City streets, delivering garbage carts, and occasionally collecting garbage or recyclables and other miscellaneous duties. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years of age. Valid Wisconsin Driver\'s License required. Recent work experience in performing manual labor preferred. Possess the physical capacity to perform manual labor for extended periods of time including, but not limited to, the ability to continuously start, push, pull, and maneuver riding mowers, push mowers, and other small-motorized equipment; continuous lifting up to 20 lbs. and occasional lifting up 100 lbs. with assistance, depending on duties performed; the ability to continuously walk, bend, kneel, sit, twist, stoop, stretch, squat, lift, push, pull, enter and exit City truck, etc. Activity Frequencies Continuous: 67 100% of workday Frequent: 34 66% of workday Occasionally: 1 33% of workday Ability to withstand exposure to variable and unfavorable weather and working conditions including, but not limited to, temperature variations and extremes, odors, toxic agents, noise, vibrations, vehicular traffic, and/or dust. ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/westalliswi/jobs/4438662/seasonal-laborer?page=2&pagetype=jobOpportunitiesJobs
