Meta Program Development Manager in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Meta is seeking a highly motivated team player to join our Data Center Engineering and Construction (DEC) team as a Program Development Manager. This position will collaborate with a diverse range of both internal and external partners to achieve the mission of planning and delivering the safest and most highly reliable data centers in the industry that are engineered, designed, constructed, commissioned, and operated with a long-term view. The primary responsibility of this role will be managing our long-term program planning efforts and will support the business capacity requests for data center development as a technical expert in preconstruction, logistics and construction planning. This role will be responsible to promote alignment and optimization across the program and ensure best in class practices and initiatives across our global builds are being implemented. The Program Development Manager must be experienced in providing scope definition to projects, presenting cost and schedule guidance to internal site selection, design and construction teams for a variety of greenfield technology construction projects. The successful candidate will provide a technical perspective along with operational guidance to the partner teams throughout the capital planning process and will assist the New Region, Pre-Construction and Construction teams in successfully launching new projects. The role also includes providing a detailed handover plan to internal teams to ensure a smooth transition and ability to be successful on the project.This position is full-time. Managing stakeholders located across all regions and time zones is a significant challenge and is key to the success of our projects. Required Skills:

Program Development Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Support roll out of program approved changes by generating playbooks and training modules and being subject matter expert to set site teams up for success.

  2. Support the business capacity requests for data center development as a technical expert in preconstruction, logistics and construction planning.

  3. Strategic planning including detailed build requirements, project coordination and scheduling, supply chain allocation and procurement.

  4. Managing ambiguous requests, changing limitations, and able to think outside the box.

  5. Interface and work closely with Pre-Construction Managers, Construction Leadership, Strategic Managers, Site Selection Managers, and external teams to produce project requirements.

  6. Develop internal processes to support operationalizing of initiatives.

  7. Collaboration with domain leads to modify and document changes to process and workflows and create new process and workflows as required.

  8. Develop schedules and cost estimates with high level resource planning and stakeholder coordination. Work in conjunction with the cross-functional partner teams to understand the cost, quality and schedule impacts of new designs, materials, and construction methods.

  9. Lead regular status updates meetings to share status with others: keep management well informed of changes to the program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Proven communication and reporting skills.

  2. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent technical degree and/or 5+ years direct professional experience in project planning and construction management.

  3. Must have knowledge to understand the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems.

  4. Experience in commercial construction management (pre-construction, contracting, scheduling, estimating, cost management).

  5. Knowledge of how to build, update, and apply the information found in project schedules including identification of the critical path.

  6. Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build process and associated documents and contracts.

  7. Coordination skills to lead a team of diverse backgrounds and experience towards a single project outcome.

  8. Must be knowledgeable in Primavera P6, MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Public Compensation:

$122,000/year to $169,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
