As a GE Appliances Senior Consulting Engineer - VRF you’ll be responsible for owning the strategic and operational aspects of serviceability for VRF HVAC. Through cross functional relationships with Technology, Quality, Manufacturing and Distribution, they will ensure the product design, product functionality, product service literature, and training material is focused on serviceability to produce the best service and ownership experience. You will serve as the “Voice of Service” on new product development programs, serviceability, quality, and safety. This is a remote field-based position that will work directly with customers in service and installation with GE Appliances products.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite job site assistance for installation, troubleshooting, and startup.

  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to customers, reps or internal salespeople by phone and email communication utilizing Haier proprietary VRF software tool.

  • Work closely with other team members to refine and enhance product offering to best support contractors’ needs and simplify technical service processes.

  • Work closely with product service team and factory R&D engineers to understand existing and new product service-related features and sequence-of-operations and create internal and external reference documentation communicating such information.

  • Assist in preparation of training course materials in support of Haier VRF including but not limited to: installation, startup, troubleshooting, service, and controls.

  • Transfer knowledge of new and existing products to sales team.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Position Competencies (Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • High school degree, GED, or equivalent.

  • Technical degree and/or formal technical HVAC training.

  • EPA 608 Licensure

  • 5+ years of experience in the residential and commercial HVAC industry.

  • Technical experience in product applications, ductless split and/or VRF (variable refrigerant flow)

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural blueprints, specifications and HVAC equipment submittal data.

  • Comfortable presenting to and engaging with a technical audience including engineers, distributors and contractors.

  • Strong problem-solver with a passion for training and customer support.

  • Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint presentations & Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Competencies

Experience in conducting technical training/education and developing training materials, with a focus on HVAC products and VRF technology.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

  • Working conditions will vary based on field-site. May require work both indoors/outdoors and on construction sites.

  • 20-50% travel depending on the season; most domestic, international might be needed based on product line expansion.
