Job Summary

Adjunct faculty members within the School of Leadership facilitate student achievement of course objectives and prepares Undergraduate/Graduate Students to matriculate through the following School of Leadership programs:

Accounting (B.S.)– Our AACSB-accredited program provides students with the foundation for a successful accounting career and the opportunity for internships with leading accounting firms.

Applied Technology (B.A.S.)– Provides pathway for two-year Career Technical or Military transfer students to develop technical leadership skills.

Business Administration (M.S. and B.S.)– Provides students with functional knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, management, and marketing that may be applied in a variety of organizational settings.

Human Capital Development (M.S. and Ph.D.)– Prepares scholar-practitioners who apply human capital analytics, performance interventions, change leadership and strategic planning to develop human capital development solutions.

Industrial Engineering Technology (B.S.)– Focuses on industrial systems design, integration and management using analytical and computational tools to improve productivity and solve problems.

Industrial Engineering Technology – Logistics (B.S.)– Integrates industrial engineering technology foundations with logistics and supply chain management tools and best practices.

Instructional Technology and Design (M.S. and Ph.D. Emphasis, Graduate Certificate)– Applies instructional design processes to create successful learning and development solutions for public and private sector organizations.

Logistics, Trade, and Transportation (M.S.)- Teaches a systematic approach to balance the demands of logistics, trade, and transportation with supply chain management strategies.

Management (B.S.)– Prepares students for leadership success in many career fields in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Students develop managerial skills in goal selection and planning, assigning tasks, delegating authority, allocating resources, motivating employees, and monitoring outcomes.

Marketing (B.S.)- One of the most recruited degrees on campus, Marketing covers a wide range of processes focused on creating exchange value for customers and society, including: brand management, retailing, marketing research, sales, and social media marketing.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Online and/or face-to-face course delivery and instruction

  • Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner

  • Communicate course requirements and expectations to students

  • Follow policies and procedures of the School of Leadership, College of Business and Economic Development, and The University of Southern Mississippi

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in discipline related to assigned course of instruction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching, mentoring and service experience at university level

  • Experience with online course delivery and instruction

  • Professional experience in field related to assigned course of instruction

  • Experience with Canvas learning platform

  • Doctoral degree in related discipline
