Job Description

AECOM is seeking talented and creative Sr. Project Leads to be based in Calgary, Edmonton or Kitchener. This is a Project Management role for people with design, planning or engineering experience working on public realm projects such as major civic plazas, riverwalks, streetscapes, municipal / provincial / national parks, green rainwater infrastructure and more.

The following summarizes this initial transition period:

After initial onboarding, your experience in public sector projects will allow you to jump in “head first” to support and/or lead our growing portfolio of projects such as: major civic plazas, riverwalks, streetscapes, municipal / provincial / national parks, green rainwater infrastructure, and more.

As you become familiar with AECOM processes and complete corporate training, you will gradually become responsible for the management of key clients, helping the team win your next commission, and overseeing the delivery of projects from concept through completion.

Once you are established as a key member of our team, you will mentor staff from a diversity of backgrounds, career stages and professions towards project success.

As you grow your client base, you may be offered the freedom to craft your own path to success within the firm by developing strategic growth plans, client account plans, and widening our service offering in design, engineering, and consultant advisory services.

Minimum Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have no less than:

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field, such as design, planning or engineering + six (6) years of experience working on public realm projects, with an emphasis on public sector agencies, governments, universities and conservation authorities.

  • PMP certification or other significant demonstrated PM experience

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. Please see preferred qualifications below.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in relevant fields of design, planning or engineering.

  • Demonstration of leadership in project delivery and client interactions. If possible, please provide evidence of larger scale projects requiring coordination of multiple disciplines and complex challenges.

  • If applicable, highlight experience working on major civic plazas, riverwalks, streetscapes, municipal / provincial / national parks, green rainwater infrastructure, and other public realm related projects.

  • Experience adhering to technical guidelines, standards, codes and best practices.

  • Experience with standard project management and construction administration protocols.

  • Experience managing budgets and schedules in an efficient manner.

  • Alternatively, highly relevant professional experience may serve as a substitute for these post-secondary education requirements.

  • Ability to work within a team environment, ability to co-ordinate with diverse teams and transdisciplinary professionals.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills, including risk management and mitigation.

  • Ability to self-direct your work combined with a strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 - $150,000.00.
