JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Masters of social work, counseling, or humanities degree preferred; Baccalaureate in social work required. Must be licensed within 18 months of employment.

Experience

Knowledge of hospital policies\procedures, practices, and techniques as acquired through orientation.

Physical

Normal hospital environment. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing and reaching. Lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs. Uses computer, typewriter, fax machine and telephone.

JOB SUMMARY

The Social Worker will carry out, in collaboration with appropriate allied health professionals, the provision of services to individual groups, and community as required. They will be responsible for consultation with other agency personnel and for direct services to patients. The Social Worker must interact with all other medical center departments, promote good public relations for the department and the medical center.
