The Opportunity:

The Senior Accounting Manager – FP&A will be responsible for corporate reporting activities, including, but not limited to, preparation of the quarterly earnings press release and the MD&A within Forms 10-Q and 10-K. This individual co-leads the Financial Analysis Reporting Group, working in tandem with the Analysis Senior Manager to prepare enterprise monthly and quarterly financial analysis and communicate results to Senior Leadership. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work will be highly visible at all levels of the company.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing the quarterly earnings press release and MD&A within Forms 10-Q and 10-K

  • Effectively leading a diverse team of skilled senior analysts responsible for monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reporting

  • Effectively communicating financial results to company VPs and SVPs, Executive Office and Board of Directors

  • Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards

  • Finance representative in working groups responsible for the Annual Report, Proxy Statement and Sustainability Report

  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes

  • Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, including finance, accounting, commercial and business divisions

  • Partner across the enterprise to support key projects related to Global Finance strategy initiatives

Skills needed for success in role:

  • Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

  • Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.

  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Additional Info :

  • This position is in our Irving, TX office

  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • Sponsorship is not available

  • Domestic travel up to 5%
