Job Description

ARAMARK Student Nutrition (ASN) provides a complete range of food, facility, uniform, and other support services to more than 600 K-12 school districts in the U.S. It offers public and private education institutions a family of dining and facility services including on-site and off-site breakfast and lunch meal programs, after-school snacks, catering, nutrition education, retail design and operations, maintenance, custodial, grounds, energy management, construction management, and building commissioning.

The Marketing Manager (MM) is responsible for working with the district team and front-line associates to develop and execute the marketing plan to meet district meal count goals. In addition, Marketing Manager is responsible for collecting and analyzing customer (student) and parent insights to identify needs and opportunities. Marketing Manager is responsible for executing both Aramark Student Nutrition Marketing programs and playbook as well as district specific marketing plans.

Job Responsibilities

  • District Marketing Plan: The MM will drive the development of the annual marketing plan and assist the Operations Team with tactics for each school to communicate and market meals. This will be done in collaboration with the Regional Marketing Director. This will include activities such as:

  • Review and customize ASN Marketing Playbook to each school

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive insights/research program to identify what matters to students (important attributes) and performance metrics (how the school food program is performing). Analyze the result to identify growth opportunities by school. The insights/research plan can include focus groups, district surveys and Annual ViewPOINT survey.

  • Attend weekly/biweekly Regional Marketing calls to learn about best practices and new programs

  • Annual budget planning sessions with Operations

  • Drive the region marketing plan process to ensure that individual account marketing plans, DM plans, and the regional plan roll up is accomplished.

  • Base Business Growth: Execute initiatives to meet the district's meal count goals through a mix of activities such as:

  • Serve as brand steward and implementation coach for all marketing programs; ensure FSDs, Kitchen Managers and Front-Line Associates are knowledgeable about the tools and resources available

  • Track and analyze district statistics on program enrollment, monthly/quarterly financial trends and correlation between program implementation and account performance

  • Capture and share best practices for program implementation

  • Conduct site audits, build marketing strategy and assist in project-specific efforts

  • Implement programs to grow breakfast, lunch, and other meal opportunities through a mix of marketing programs including promotions, parent communication, social media, tasting events, and other growth-oriented activities

  • Ensure each school is consistent in terms of merchandising, marketing, line speed and all other marketing details.

  • Marketing Training: Conduct market training District team and front-line associates.

  • Conduct new program training and refresher sessions, as necessary

  • Conduct marketing breakouts at national and/or regional training sessions

  • Support the district in building Operator training materials and curriculum

  • As capacity allows, assist FSDs with developing training approach and/or materials for Front Line Employees (FSDs should conduct/execute all training modules.)

  • Communication: Support communication efforts within the district, which may include:

  • Ensure all district communication including social media is implemented. Assess results and adjust accordingly.

  • Develop broad approaches to motivate Front Line Associates to implement consistent service excellence at each school

  • Assist FLM in developing any non-standard communications for various constituents

  • Attend client meetings and tradeshows with district team, as appropriate for supporting annual business plan

  • Implement any specific advertising or marketing communications efforts

  • Apply for awards as necessary and available

  • Works with RMD to identify opportunities, as appropriate

Qualifications

  • B.A. and/or MBA, with 2+ years marketing experience

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Influencing without formal authority ? able to create an informal network to support program pilots, implementation and collection of best practices and measurement

  • Strategic agility ? the ability to be the region marketing strategist and advisor to the RVP

  • Business analysis ? ability to track, analyze, and present results from marketing program implementation

  • Project management ? Multiple tasks will be managed at one time resulting in a need for strong time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Organizational savvy ? Ability to speak to multiple levels within the region, representing a ?big-picture,? business-oriented view of development

  • Dealing with Ambiguity ? able to get in, assess the situation, identify key players, set action plan, and deliver

  • Results oriented ? analytical skills and ability to think strategically about the business are essential; accountable for achieving the region?s financial goals through collaboration with the operations team
