Position Summary

Our business is seeking a passionate, upbeat candidate to join our team in the role of Bioprocessing Workflow Advisor (BWA) for our Asia Pacific and Japan region based in Korea. The Bioprocessing Workflow Advisor (BWA) is a member of the BioProduction Group’s Innovation Leadership team who, in coordination with the Commercial organization, works with key technical leaders in the customer organizations to provide technical advice on the design, development, scale-up, and technology transfer of processes in a variety of customer modality workflows. BWA will have clear accountability for product/workflow adoption metrics that are in alignment with the commercial organization. An expert in the CMC aspects of drug development and commercialization, the BWA works closely with the customers, understands their current and future needs for the specific product as well as their pipeline, and provides both strategic and tactical advice on addressing those needs, both in the development and manufacture of biologics. The BWA will also have a strong understanding of BPG products, the broader Thermo Fisher product portfolio, and third-party products to provide opportunities for the customer to choose the best-in-class technologies to meet their needs. BWA will align closely with the commercial organization to identify potential customers to engage with and translate the engagement into actionable opportunities. BWA will also align with the BPG Innovation Leadership Team to understand product and process technologies and approaches.

The BWA reports directly to VP of Innovation, BPG, and matrix reports to VP Country General Manager of Korea and partners with the R&D, marketing, sales, and strategy leaders across BPG.

What will you do?

• Working with the commercial organization, identify customers that need workflow support, prioritize engagement to contribute to the commercial targets, including product and workflow adoption.

• Compile relevant process and product technology tools to assist customers in assessing processes/products in the workflow, including process optimization, scale-up, tech transfer, and facility fit aspects.

• Engage with customers at the appropriate level which are commercially actionable, and determine specific needs, such as product selection, process selection, optimization, scale-up, tech transfer, facility fit, etc.

• Establish and maintain an intake process, including assessment, prioritization, engagement, follow-up, and close-out of the opportunity, and for working with the commercial organization and communicate appropriate actions in a timely manner to the commercial teams.

• Coordinate with the various functions within the commercial organization and the broader BPG organization, including product management, marketing & strategy, etc.

• Create process templates and other intake tools to facilitate information gathering to triage and provide appropriate guidance.

• Guide customers through tools, articles, application notes, and white papers on addressing their needs.

• Provide customer project-specific support by analyzing their process needs and offers recommendations for scenarios to consider, aligning with the broader Thermo Fisher organization to be able to demonstrate and articulate products and technologies that will fit the customer workflow.

• Leverage the BPG organization to get guidance on process/product technologies to provide specific solutions/guidance to the customers.

• Communicate with customers through presentations, written reports, and interactive sessions to assess and provide information.

• Maintain a rigorous process and structure for CRM to ensure appropriate customer touchpoints and engagements.

• Be responsible for the development of white papers, publications, webinars, and customer engagement visits to Bioprocess Design Centers across the region.

• Transition engagement for product-specific needs to appropriate TSS/FAS/BAM

• Develop modality-specific tools for workflows.
