Job Description:

The Office of Academic Support (OAS) at the University of Florida is looking for 2-3 dedicated students to join our team as Desk Assistants. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable administrative experience and contribute to the smooth operation of our office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with opening and unlocking offices and classrooms, maintaining facilities, and ensuring areas are organized.

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, logging visitors, answering phones, voicemail, and emails, and routing calls.

  • Maintain a tidy front desk and lobby area, monitor office supplies, and distribute mail.

  • Help maintain organization of the OAS storage room, tutoring/coaching cubicles, and computer/classroom space.

  • Assist with data entry, preparing reports, and maintaining spreadsheets.

  • Manage inventories under the supervision of the administrative specialist.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$12.00 per hour; commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a current UF student, with Federal Work Study students given priority.

  • Good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and courteous.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Professional etiquette.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Quick learner, adaptable, and flexible.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week (3-hour shifts).

Available to start employment during Summer C, with preference given to those available for Fall and Spring semesters.
