The University of Maine at Farmington's (UMF) Department of Athletics is now hiring three (3) part-time coaches for their annual week-long soccer camp. The camp focuses on player development and improving skill proficiency while having fun in a positive learning environment.

Work Schedule: June 24, 2024, through June 28, 2024, mornings and afternoons.

Position Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and supervises activities and events.

  • Assists with set -up and implementation of soccer camp activities.

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and positive program environment.

  • Identifies and responds to possible hazards related to soccer camp.

  • Participates in the camper check -in and check-out .

  • Reports all emergencies, illnesses, or injuries to the director/supervisor

  • Understands, follows, and implements all Emergency Action Plans for specific locations on campus.

    Qualifications:

    Required Competencies

  • Teambuilding - Demonstrates the ability to work as a team, as well as independently.

    Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Extensive knowledge of soccer activities for children ages five (5 ) year-olds to fifteen (15) year-olds.

  • Experience playing soccer at an advanced level.

  • Experience working with youths in an athletic camp environment or as a coach.

    Working Conditions - The individual in this position should be able to perform in the following working conditions with or without accommodation.

  • Consistently works in an outdoor setting.

  • Occasionally participates in outdoor programs in inclement weather.

  • Duties require frequent physical activity.

  • Frequently requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, pinching, and grasping

  • Exerts up to twenty (20) pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
