Position Purpose: The Accounting Specialist position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects related to Payroll and Accounts Payable are accurate and correctly processed according to established accounting and professional standards. This position also supports other accounting cycle tasks of the Costa Rican Office, to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.
This is a CR-based position. To be considered, please be aware that you must be currently authorized to work in Costa Rica.

About the role:
Main Taks:
Payroll administrator
Corporate credit cards administrator
GL miscellaneous
Accounts Payable process backup
Other responsabilities:
Process payroll, terminations, bonuses, and other payroll related transactions for payment approval.
Act as the Corporate Credit Cards administrator
Process GL entries and any financial transations for fiscal closes
Manage vendor/ employees accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information, and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
Ensure effective, efficient, and accurate communication/management information with government and third-party institutions (Hacienda, INS, Vendors, PwC)
Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, accounts payable, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data as well as payment data.
Audit internal systems as needed; provide all necessary documentation for external audits.
Review and reconcile employee open items and communicate with employees/bank to resolve any outstanding issues.
Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and yearly accounts payable/payroll reports for management review.
Collaborate with other departments and team members to resolve any accounts payable/payroll-related inquiries or concerns.
Assist in month-end close activities, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts payable/payroll-related accounts
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all payroll/accounts payable transactions and related documentation.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and streamlining of payroll/accounts payable processes.
Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in payroll/accounts payable and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
Engage with other projects as needed.
About you:
English Level: Advanced (C1)
Education Level: Advanced student or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
Years of experience: 2+

SAP experience is a plus
Payroll process experience is also a plus
