Job Description

Engineering Technician II

Gilead is currently looking for a Engineering Technician II for our Edmonton, Alberta facility.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Write and approve commissioning and qualification specification documents, verification protocols, and reports for manufacturing equipment, support systems, and computer systems.

  • Execute or overseeingexecution of commissioning and qualification protocols with limited direct supervision.

  • Provides validation expertise and guidance to projects and unplanned changes to equipment, support system, and computer systems within the manufacturing facilities.

Key Attributes:

  • Proficient understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards relevant to the industry.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of industry practices.

  • Adept at operating plant equipment and plant control systems for commissioning and testing purposes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, is essential.

  • Engage in cross-functional project teams under guidance.

  • Availability outside of standard operating hours to address commissioning or qualification issues related to plant equipment and technical projects is expected.

  • Be available outside of normal operating hours to assist in resolving commissioning or qualification problems associated with plant equipment and technical projects.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are necessary for success in this role.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree from a recognized University or Institution and 5+ years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma and 6+ years of relevant experience.
