The organization

Denver Health is an integrated, efficient, academic health care system that is considered a model for the nation. As Colorado's primary safety net institution, Denver Health provides the full spectrum of medical services from primary to oncologic care. Serving one third of the city of Denver, as well as patients from outside Denver, Denver Health provides primary care services via a citywide network of community health centers, school-based health clinics, and a soon-to-open 7-story 293,000 square foot outpatient medical center. Inpatient services are housed in multiple campus buildings with 555 adult, pediatric, and OB/GYN beds. Denver Health is committed to serving all patients, regardless of the ability to pay.

Denver Health's Emergency Medicine program is nationally renowned, with over 120,000 patient visits per year, and with a nationally recognized stand-alone emergency medicine residency. The trauma center sees 18,000 patients annually, 2700 of whom are admitted, and many of whom arrive as transfers from any one of 60 regional hospitals. The trauma service is extraordinarily academically productive with millions in grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and United States Department of Defense (DoD). The seminal text "Trauma" was authored by Denver Health faculty.

Position Summary

Denver Health is seeing a Musculoskeletal Radiologist (fellowship training or extensive musculoskeletal practice experience preferred) to join our department at the level of and Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or (Full) Professor, depending on the level of experience. The ideal candidate will have a record of clinical excellence and strong teaching abilities. The candidate being sought will primarily focus on the delivery of outpatient and inpatient musculoskeletal imaging services, including Radiography, CT, MR, MSK ultrasound, and limited fluoroscopy studies. Given the volume and strength of the ED and trauma service at Denver Health, there is an emphasis on providing advanced, cutting edge, and highly collaborative acute care and care of trauma patients. Our radiology group is collaborative, so the ability to cross cover other areas in radiology (e.g. body imaging, etc.) is preferred.

Denver Health radiologists participate in the education of University of Colorado medical students, radiology residents, and fellows.

The Department values patient-centered care and a highly collaborative work environment. There is a strong working relationship with all medical and surgical specialties.

Candidate Qualifications:

Education/Academic Credentials M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent medical degree; board certification or board eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology; fellowship training and/or extensive experience in musculoskeletal imaging preferred; eligibility for licensure in Colorado The ability to be appointed at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending on experience. Participation in national societies and organizations is encouraged, though not required. The Department will support participation with societies, particularly when focused on faculty development and developing service lines.
