Working as part of a cross-functional team you lead the RDQ activities required to complete new product development and maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects keeping in mind the goal to deliver the desired consumer experience.

How you will contribute

You will work independently to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements You will effectively communicate status and risks and plan, lead and coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In addition, you will plan, lead and coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). To provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.

What you need to know about this position:

Reporting to: R&D Vietnam Leader Biscuit

  • This person is an experienced R&D product professional who can lead product projects independently and provide product technical support. Acts as a business partner who works with business teams (Marketing for example) to provide technical solutions for continuing to drive business growth.

  • With limited support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with R&D, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct pilot plant and factory trials following good manufacturing practices, HACCP requirements and development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation etc.). You will also write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and lead to conclusions and recommendations and create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications.

  • This position is accountable for product development for Vietnam within AMEA region. Product development may cover New Product Development (NPD) program, productivity, quality improvement and technical support.

  • This position requires a detailed understanding of product development process, depth knowledge of product technologies to make a significant contribution to project objectives and outcomes. Furthermore, a consumer-oriented sense is very important during development, basic business knowledge is also necessary for this position.

What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • Working experience background with Food science, science, or engineering, from-5-year experience in bakery product development in a fast-moving consumer goods market is an advantage for the role;

  • Strong capability of prioritizing and managing activities

  • Ability to work on teams and independently with the guidance of a manager

  • Ability to identify problems proactively, create and implement solutions independently

  • Great ability to apply fundamental technical understanding to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including technical writing

  • Putting the consumer at the heart of development activities

  • Good English command

Education / Certifications: Bachelor's degree or higher education level with major of Food Science
