Opera Ad Operations Manager in Barcelona, Spain

Location: Barcelona, Spain (will not consider relocation or remote locations)

We are looking for a highly motivated Ad Operations Manager to join our talented team to help scale our growing advertising business. The main responsibility of this role will be to manage the Global Ad Operations team whilst working with Client Solution Managers, Sales, Technical Operations and other internal teams as well as with external partners in order to drive ‘client' success and meet our clients' revenue objectives.

As an Ad Operations Manager you will be reporting to the Director of Global Client Solutions. You will be passionate about understanding campaign intricacies and how to improve performance whilst understanding the range of our advertising products available to advertisers and agencies. You will be engaging with internal partners to deliver on specific objectives and ensure that our Ad Operations team is working with high levels of efficiency. You will play a key role - from strategically growing and restructuring the Ad Operations team, to empowering the business by providing technical and operational support to help clients and internal teams effectively utilize our ad products and achieve our clients' business objectives. You will possess a strong analytical ability and will develop deep expertise in our systems, our advertising products and proprietary metrics with an aim to fully support the effective performance of the Ad Operations team and their partnership with internal and external stakeholders when it comes to technical solutions and implementations.

This is primarily an operational role with some limited client-facing responsibilities. The Ad Operations Manager, is expected to have a strong technical background equipping the entire team with the skills to implement campaigns and other solutions across complex systems and work with multiple stakeholders including the engineering, analytics, commercial and finance teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Ad Operations team globally. Responsible for staffing, recruiting and effectively allocating responsibilities within the Ad Operations team.

  • Design and optimize internal Ad Operations processes and workflows to ensure full completion of tasks with expected quality and results, within appropriate timeframes.

  • Identify structural and strategic gaps and opportunities within Ad Operations remit and suggest, design and implement solutions to address these.

  • Understand our products and solutions and oversee the efficient implementation of those for our clients. Provide oversight of the full digital operations and offer recommendations and solutions to operational issues and troubleshooting.

  • Oversee the execution and the deployment of both direct and programmatic display campaigns, including, but not limited to, planning, campaign setup, campaign optimization and campaign performance tracking in order to enable the achievement of consumer and business sales goals.

  • Design, implement and lead QA and Testing processes to ensure our tech solutions are implemented and working as expected.

  • Implement and manage performance tracking and audience segmentation solutions (e.g pixel tracking and 1st party audiences) and efficiently liaise with Client Solutions and Tech partners/stakeholders for their appropriate implementation.

  • Be the primary liaison for day-to-day collaboration between ad operations, client solutions, engineering, and product development across all platforms.

  • Lead and communicate to the relevant personnel critical updates on all aspects of the advertisement operations department (for example - setup, troubleshooting, trafficking, and vendor certifications)

  • Develop, maintain and upgrade documentation and playbooks for cross-departmental use, by keeping reference materials simplified, easily accessible and up to date.

  • Provide insightful performance analysis results on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis in order to enable strategic improvements in advertising campaigns; maximizing efficiency and yield management

  • Lead the technical troubleshooting practices and capabilities of the Ad Ops team and ensuring the correct resolution of all campaign issues

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years Ad-Ops background and people management experience.

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in different locations; liaised with clients and internal stakeholders extensively.

  • Proven record of processes and workflows improvement and optimization for global teams.

  • Strong project management background with sound knowledge of ad serving technology, DSP's, SSP's, RTB.

  • Have high attention to detail, possess an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, be a critical and strategic thinker.

  • Ability to absorb complex technical and commercial information in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Flexible with working hours, and happy to travel if required.

An Ideal Candidate's Profile:

  • A strong technical Ad Ops background with experience in ad tracking systems, media tagging, ad trafficking, performance tracking and debugging technical issues.

  • Quality driven - you have a strong eye for the aesthetic, and you set yourself and others (your team, vendors, advertisers, etc) the highest professional bar in all situations.

  • Be self-motivated and proactive, highly analytical with an ability to articulate figures into a storyline.
