Please review the following job description:

Request, collect and analyze client data for benefit plans. Perform actuarial analysis, valuations, forecast cost projections and prepare client reports in support of Consulting Actuaries and client relationship teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Coordinate the collection of relevant client data for review and analysis.

  2. Perform actuarial valuations, forecasts and calculations in support of Consulting Actuary, clinical practices, and client relationship teams.

  3. Evaluate and forecast plan experience to develop recommendations for plan design, contribution and funding strategies, and accounting policies.

  4. Analyze results for reasonableness and prepare reports and presentations ensuring completeness and submit to senior team members for review. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all client deliverables.

  5. Develop pricing, reserve calculations and process claims models. Analyze population health data to support clinical and wellness initiatives. Support actuarial valuations.

  6. Utilize valuation systems, established processes, and spreadsheets to perform all necessary actuarial calculations.

  7. Attend presentations with clients, client relationship teams, carriers and other third parties in support of Consulting Actuaries.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or other analytical field or equivalent education and related training

  2. Strong problem solving skills

  3. Exceptional organizational and multiple project management skills

  4. Attention to detail and quality oriented

  5. Ability to effectively work in a team environment

  6. Good analytical and writing skills

  7. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment

  8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

  9. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in an Actuarial Consulting practice

  2. Currently pursuing actuarial exams with the Society of Actuaries (SOA)

  3. Industry relevant licensing, professional credentials and continuing education
